Rich NEW

Rich is a dedicated CrossFitter who truly believes in the CrossFit methodology and philosophy. He was first introduced to CrossFit in the summer of 2007 while working on assignment as a Sports Performance Coach in Utah. There he discovered CrossFit because he wanted to pick up a new hobby and keep himself busy. His first WOD consisted of tire flips, KB swings, wall balls and running. After passing out on the floor when the workout was done, he was immediately “addicted” to the kool-aid! He soon developed an addiction, and gained a strong drive to train in becoming a stronger “CrossFitter”. Since then, he has been part of the CrossFit community and loves being able to now share his knowledge with people from all different fitness levels to help them achieve their goals.

Rich earned his B.S. in Exercise Science and Human Movement from San Francisco State University and has worked in the fitness industry for 8 years. Upon completion of his degree, he worked as a Sports Performance Coach at Velocity Sports Performance, where he coached athletes ranging from elementary school age to the professional level. Rich also spent a year working for MediFit, a corporate wellness company, as a full-time Health and Fitness Specialist. He developed exercise and fitness programs for the company’s employees.

He is certified as a Level 1 CrossFit Certified Trainer, and holds a number of certifications including the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S) and Sports Performance Coach through the United States Weightlifting Association (USAW).

Rich has competed in several CrossFit competitions, including the OC Throwdown, Southwest Sectionals, and NLP Invitational Series. He plans to continue his journey through both competition and coaching at Ruination CrossFit for years to come. Becoming involved in CrossFit has inspired Rich to help others improve their health and show them what a positive impact it can make in one’s life.

“I truly believe in the CrossFit methodology and philosophy. It has changed my life in so many ways physically and mentally. I am able to accomplish new goals each and every day. From lifting heavier weights, climbing ropes, walking on my hands, etc. the journey to get fitter never stops for me and I love that. I don’t want to be great at one thing but good at a lot of things. That’s why I compete in every competition or challenge I can because it is a test of my training: the hard work and dedication I have put in.”
